Improving Public Transport

A good public transport network is essential here in Dumfriesshire. That means addressing shortfalls in the current bus network and building on recent local efforts to improve rail links from Dumfries, Lockerbie, Annan and Gretna; as well as campaigning for the re-opening of Beattock, Eastriggs and Thornhill Stations.

These links open up employment and social opportunities not just locally but in our major cities. They also ensure that elderly and disabled residents can access the services they need.

This is a top priority for me and I look forward to working with local people and organisations to highlight these concerns in the Scottish Parliament.
