Time to Dual the A75

I believe that the absence of a reliable and strategic link between Dumfries town and the M74 Motorway is holding back our local economy and is the main reason we have struggled to attract inward private investment into our region. Having spoken to thousands of local people on the doorstep, I am strongly of the view that developing and upgrading the A75 is the best option moving forward. During the Scottish Parliament elections Deputy First Minister, John Swinney, committed to holding a transport summit here in Dumfriesshire and I am keen to ensure this goes ahead and delivers results. In the meantime, I will continue to use opportunities at Holyrood to raise this issue and keep up the pressure on the SNP Scottish Government to invest in the A75 and other key local routes.
