DUMFRIESHIRE constituency MSP Oliver Mundell turned waiter during a special visit to Dumfries Day Centre on Friday.
He was asked to hand over a celebratory cake to birthday girl Margaret Howat of Dumfries, who had just turned 95.
Margaret is one of the longest attending members at the popular town centre facility, having enjoyed the packed programme of activities for more than 30 years.
More than 140 members attend regular lunches, social events, entertainment, exercise sessions, arts and crafts, games, trips and activities such as tai-chi.
There are also visits from health professionals, help with paperwork and facilities for a hairdresser and podiatrist.
During his visit, Mr Mundell chatted to members and staff and learned about the latest developments.
He said: "The Day Centre staff do fantastic work enhancing the lives of members. It is a bright and cheery building and clearly everyone, including Margaret, were having a great time.
"Like all the day centres across my constituency they provide a safe happy environment, promoting companionship, health and well-being."
